Welcome to IMSANZ 2022

On behalf of the organising committee I am extremely pleased to invite you to the 2022 Australasian IMSANZ conference to be held 7th-10th September 2022. Once again the conference is planned to be held as a hybrid event with the option to attend either in person at Manly Pacific or to join us online from a venue of your choice! 

This year presents a great opportunity to meet together and celebrate the silver anniversary of IMSANZ. The theme of the conference “Looking Back, Moving Forward: 25 years of IMSANZ” should inspire all our members to reflect on how far we have come as a specialty and the role of the general physician in to the future. This will allow discussion of how we train fit-for-purpose generalists of the future together with how we adapt generalist models of care to allow us to define ourselves as leaders in a changing medical landscape. 

There will of course again be the well regarded updates for the practising general physician, opportunities to attend SPDP supervisor workshops and a dedicated trainee’s day on the 7th September to kick off the proceedings. 

The social program should allow an opportunity to meet and mingle with current and past presidents and council members and to be reminded of and inspired by our many proud achievements. Most of all, a time to relax with new and long time friends and mentors. We look forward to seeing you overlooking the water in September.
