Welcome

On behalf of the local organising committee, it gives me pleasure to invite you to join us in Sydney for the Australasian IMSANZ Conference from Wednesday 3 - Saturday 6th November 2021. This is being held right next to the beach at Manly at the Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific.

As clinicians we value face-to-face communication and understand that our conferences are more than a series of lectures; they are also a chance to network, share experiences and engage in informal social activities with both new and long-standing colleagues. However, we also understand that the on-going COVID-19 pandemic requires a more flexible approach to our regular Australia based meeting.

Therefore, the 2021 Australasian IMSANZ Conference will be presented in a ‘Hybrid’ format. In-person for those able to attend in Sydney and online for those Australian, New Zealand and Pacific Island colleagues who wish to attend or present virtually. This also will ensure that the conference can proceed regardless of any last minute COVID-19 issues.

The theme for the meeting is ‘Riding the Wave of Transitions’, and will include sessions on a broad range of subspecialties. Speakers from around New South Wales and beyond will focus on areas of importance for the practicing General Physician, be they working in a tertiary centre or private practice. Updates will include what’s new in CPD requirements as well as the opportunity to complete supervisor workshops for those supervising advanced trainees.

Along with an exciting social program, we know that this meeting should build on the success of previous conferences, and allow delegates to explore Sydney and its’ environs. We look forward to look forward to seeing you...either virtually or in-person and welcoming you to Manly in November!
